I start visiting MIT Media Lab from Oct. to Nov. 2025
From October to November 2025, I was a visiting student at the MIT Media Lab, working with the City Science Group. During this visit, I participated in an intensive research exchange centered on a collaborative project titled “Three-dimensional Community Simulation Interface: Designing and Manufacturing RoboScope, a Pin-Array Display to Facilitate Understanding Through Iteration of a Community’s Common Vision.” The project was led by Prof. Kent Larson (MIT Media Lab) in collaboration with Prof. Seungwoo Je (SUSTech SD) and was supported by the MIT Greater China Fund for Innovation.
Our project named PinScope, was incubated through MIT-led collaboration and benefited from in-depth discussions with MIT faculty and researchers on its technical, social, and urban implications. Building upon the foundational concepts of RoboScope, our work explored further applications of large-scale pin-array displays as spatial interfaces for community visioning, urban simulation, and iterative decision-making. Following the visit, PinScope has been exhibited for three months at The 10th Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (UABB, Shenzhen), marking an important step in translating academic research into public-facing urban discourse.
